UC Irvine or Community College?

I sent a letter of appeal to UCI over a month ago and have not heard back yet. I know the chances are small, but IF I do get in, should I go to UCI or community college as planned?

I applied to UCI as an Anthropology major, because my original major was severely impacted.

However, I would like to major in Business Economics.
Should I go to UCI and take my general ed classes and prerequisites so I can APPLY to change my major to Business Economics? Or should I not risk it and just go to community college and then transfer to a UC.- Also, keep in mind that ccc transfer students have a higher chance of acceptance at UC's, over a UC to UC transfer. - If I go to UCI, I'm going to try to transfer to UCLA or UCB.

If I could choose, I'd reeally like to go to UCLA (Or UCB if possible - most likely not, but still a possibility).
In high school, I didn't try my hardest - my grades weren't the best..they weren't the worst either. I have the brains to succeed, I just didn't have the motivation then. And I thought it was going to be easier to get into a UC - kids with 4.0's are being rejected! -from the middle schools like Irvine.

I am also a very independent person and would like to move out. I live in Davis now, so going down to so cal would be a nice change and also I would like the college dorm experience. I know I can move out while going to ccc, but that's just not practical. If I have a house with my parents where I don't need to pay rent, then it's smart to just live at home.

I'm kinda hoping I don't get into Irvine, so I don't have to make this decision. Lol.

And also, money isn't an issue. So, that's not a factor in my decision.

Thank you!
