In November, I applied for 7 schools, including UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, and San Jose State. My major is computer engineering, and UCSB is my first choice. Unfortunately I got put on UCSB’s waitlist. I sent an appeal letter but I’m not expecting anything. So I’m debating between UCI and SJSU. Which one of these two schools is better for computer engineering?
Where you a CSE direct admit for both schools? Do you have any cost constraints? Which school do you feel the most comfortable in attending?
I am a direct admit for both schools. SJSU has not sent me my financial aid award letter yet. I feel like UCI’s campus is a better fit for me. Are both UCI and SJSU’s computer engineering programs the same in terms of how good they are?
If UCI is a better fit, then I would go with there. Happy Student=Successful Student. I do not think you can go wrong with either school for your major.
San Jose State. I am transferring out of UCI engineering and have 3 friends that just dropped from comp sci here at uci. One of them has his BS in chem from UCI, his exact words, “I don’t know what the hell happened to this place.” Go to SJSU, Silicon Valley, tech central! You’ll get a job in no time. You will be happier at SJSU. SJSU students are recruited by Facebook, Apple, Amazon, and many more companies. I wouldn’t even bother with UCI.
