<p>What are the types of things you've heard about UCI?</p>
<p>What are the pros and cons?</p>

<p>I have been researching UCI since Freshman year, have made lots of trips there, know the campus well enough, have friends there, I've eaten there, even spent the night in the dorms.</p>
<p>Here's what I consider PROS and CONS, based on my view and on another friend's view</p>
<p>PROS:
-Great academics, although there are a few hard/mean teachers.
-It's huge and diverse, although there is a 50+% of Asian Population
-There is An IN-N-OUT
-The dining halls are nice and have a lot of variety, although my friend says it gets "old" after the first 3 months.
-Dorms are nice (the rooms) they are really clean
-Student body is very very nice!
-It is in a good location, close to the beach, close to shopping centers, etc.
-Has an AMAZING Rec. center.
-It has a beautiful park.
-It has a nice university town
-It has very nice theaters.
-It's Growing, really fast and really awesome
-Amazing libraries
-Hot pocket was made by one of the alumnus.
-You can take classes outside your major (for example, do a play without being a drama major)
-The weather is amazing, even on cold days.
-Some classes are graded on curves.
-Financial Aid help.</p>
<p>CONS:
-The layout of the campus is confusing
-Admissions staff was somewhat rude and unhelpful (they basically didn't answer my questions) my friend tells me they are not very fair with schedules.
-The campus can get pretty mono-tone after a while
-Dorm buildings look the same.
-To get to Newport or any other place, u have to take a shuttle, take the bus, walk or drive. It takes a LONG time to get ANYWHERE without a car.
-Staff people are not helpful, I have been there many times and they always have an "I don't want to be here attitude."
-The Parking Fees are CRAZY, no wonder why not many have their own cars on campus dorms.
-Although u can ride bikes and skate, there are lots of paths that don't allow it, making it annoying.
-My friend tells me even though UCI is really good, it's not the best school in the world, it's a good school but could do better.
-The place can get "boring," as there isn't much to do at night.</p>
