UC Irvine TAG Computer Science

I will be applying to UCI this fall from El Camino College and was wondering what the requirements to transfer are. On assist.org it saysyou need Calc 1 and Calc 2. Also says I need a YEAR of comp sci. What does that exactly mean? Would a semester of intro to C++ and a semester of intro to java be enough?

Read this. The classes on the right you need to fulfill, depending on what the rules say (required, recommended, highly recommended). Plan to meet with an advisor.

CS major here. Since UCI is on the quarter system I believe it is safer to assume they mean 3 quarters worth of classes, and that would make sense considering typically CS classes offered at a CC consist of Intro Programming, to Object Oriented Programming, to Data Structures (along with some kind of Assembly course). But of course as lindyk8 said make sure to meet with your advisor. Also I personally would not take an intro course in both C++/Java (if they will cover the same topics).
