Hello I have been looking everywhere to see if Irvine has a unit maximum for their TAG program. I have 8 cross-enrolled units from UCSD, and 73 units from a Community College which puts me just over 80. I am kind of relying on UCI to be my backup for UCSD and if I dont get into Irvine I am pretty much screwed. So does anybody know about any unit caps for UC Irvine?

There used to be a web page from the Univeristy of California that addressed your question by providing the transfer unit limitations for each of the UCs, but unfortunately that web page was taken down about a month ago, probably due to the UC’s implementation of their website redesign and new application interface. The replacement for this web page is here: [University of California - Transfer credit](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/transfer/requirements/transfer-credit/), but it is much less specific than the old page and as such doesn’t specifically list each UC’s unit maximum.

Excerpt from the new page: “Some campuses also limit the total number of transfer units that will be accepted. If your community college work is combined with credit from a four-year institution, different unit limits may apply. Please consult the admissions office at the UC campus that interests you.”

I recommend calling UCI Admissions --they could probably answer your question on the phone. Their number: (949) 824-6703 between 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.

(From the earlier version’s web page, I do remember that for students with mixed records from both a 4-year (e.g. UC) and a 2-year (i.e. CCC), UCSD’s is 90 maximum semester units (also stated on UCSD’s TAG page), and that UC Davis’ is 80 maximum semester units (also on their TAG page). I don’t remember UCI’s, but I do know remember getting a personal vibe from UCI’s paragraph that UCI might be more lenient with units.)

Btw, why do you think you’re screwed if Irvine doesn’t accept you lol? What about Davis, SB, or the other UCs? Oh and does your having 8 cross-enrolled units from UCSD mean that you were once a student there? If so may I ask why you left?
