I for one would like to enjoy my college experience, but I always put academics and success first. With that in mind, how is UC Irvine? Is it very academically oriented? Any Social life? What are some events that go on? Is the student life any good? How’s that beach next to it? How about the staff? Etc.
I look forward to attending UCI, as it looks like a fantastic place from the outside, but I’d like some insider information.
@honcho Hey Honcho, I was just accepted as well. I visited the campus during celebrate UCI and they had a lot of restaurants (In-n-out, blaze) and really nice dorms there. From what I’ve heard, the student body is great but you have to get out there and surround yourself with other people like you because it isn’t the most socially active campus. I don’t think that’s a bad thing, it just means you have to interact with other people like you to make friends. I don’t know if I have insider information since I’ve really only seen the place once but that’s what I have for right now.
I stayed there for a few days for a Model UN conference. We had a panel where we could ask some of the current students questions and they pretty much said the the whole campus is full of really quiet, nice, and chill kids. Theres no football team so no one is that excited about sports. This is unreleated lol but the University shopping center accross the street is super great theres a gym, trader joes, a cookie bar, movie theater, etc that seemed to be the center of the social life
