I’m a high schooler and my dream is getting into the Nursing program at UC Irvine, which only accepted 88 students last year (yikes)
stats
CSU GPA:4.04
UC GPA: 4.23 (took alot of honors and APs but got Bs in most of them, few A’s in humanities courses)

Eligibility Index: (800*4.04)+1500=4739
*I’m also a male and I’ve heard that males have slight advantage because this is a female dominated occupation
extracurriculats
leadership in social justice, service clubs
academic awards in history (only national history day, placed high in state level)
music awards (international competitions)
volunteer (performs at senior centers, volunteers at hospital)-- not sure if this is gonna help me because I volunteer at the front desk so I just sit there and answer questions. nevertheless a hospital setting + experience.
*theres more but these are the main ones
another important note is my essay. I talked about aiding my mom who suffers from polio throughout my childhood and how that fostered my passion of helping others. Also had another essay that explained other circumstances that explained my lackluster academics my mediocre grades.
