UC is dropping Subject test - official!!

Finally APPROVED!!!

UC Board of Regents approves changes to UC's policy on undergraduate admission requirements.
Too bad...2012

that sux. so basically it doesn’t affect any of us

I know what the seniors this year are feeling about score choice with this piece of news.

wait so if i graduate in 2011 i still have to take the subject tests?

As someone with a double 800, I think this is sad (even if it doesn’t affect me).

And I recall reading a report by the UC’s talking about how the SAT II’s were much better predictors than the SAT I.

Oh dear. How times have changed.

I don’t get it. Since it is easy to do well on subject tests simply by studying really hard for the one test, how can it represent how well you will do in a class overall? I could have failed trig or bio and spent all my time studying for the subject tests just to get a good score on the test, but it wouldn’t mean that I’m a good student.

You need to have a broad understanding of the subject that you want to take the test for. It’s not like Math 2 is just all trig or chem is all balancing equations…

wow theyre so lucky gahh

wrong thread lol

Wow, that’s pretty ridiculous. They’re pretty stupid for taking it off, it was a good measure of ability.
Too bad, the freshmen this year lucked out i guess.
