CS and CSE are some of the more competitive majors at the UC’s and under a 4.0 Capped weighted UC GPA puts you below the 25th percentile for all but 3 UC’s: UC Riverside, Merced and Santa Cruz. You SAT is within range for many of the UC’s, but UC’s tend to be more GPA focused vs. test focused.

Your overall application will be reviewed and the UC’s consider GPA, Test scores, HS course rigor and essays Very Important.

UCM and UCR are pretty likely to take you. UCSC is probably 60/40 against - the others are even longer odds.

Yes, we also applied for most of SCUs and few out of state universities.
What would be probability of gettting at SJSU with CS major?

SJSU admits by eligibility index and major.

(CSU/UC capped weighted x 800) + (SAT Math + EBRW).

The EI threshold last year for CS was 4675. This threshold can fluctuate from year to year.

Your EI is 4470 so below that threshold so mostly likely a Reach. I have seen the EI fluctuate as much as 200 points so there is always a slim possibility.

Your stats would make you competitive at all the Cal States except for SJSU and Cal Poly SLO. Hopefully you applied widely.

Edited: For Computer Engineering, the SJSU threshold was 4300 for 2019 so you are well above that EI threshold.

Did you apply to SJSU as a CS major? Did you select an alternate major?
