UC or Cal state

UC or Cal state, if I wanna get a better salary immediately after graduation ? The major in UC is Econ and Cal state is Bus.

dude didnt you just post something completly the same in a diffrent thread and didnt people tell you to go to Davis?

if you go to a cal state school, you might as well wipe your butt with the degree you get there.

ditto ditto

***? There's no comparison between a UC and a Cal State. Every single UC except Merced is in the U.S. News top 100 while all the Cal States are 3rd and 4th tier schools. No Cal State has the recognition and prestige of a UC. Why is this even being asked?

It's not as simple as rankings. Many Cal State schools have connections to their communities that UCs don't. There are many other factors...

cal state sucks

Cal State typically caters to students with different goals than those who go to UCs--it isn't a SUCK or NO SUCK thing; that's an immature and uneducated view.

OK you're right my bad, but to answer the op's question, it's pretty much a guarantee that a UC grad will make more than a Cal State grad immediately after graduation.

"it's pretty much a guarantee that a UC grad will make more than a Cal State grad immediately after graduation."

I don't think that's true. It depends on the major and where the person is looking for a job.

UC's ECON is to teach you somethings about money, on the other hand, the bus in cal state is mainly to teach you how to make money. Bus @ cal state is more practical and easy to find a job.

There is more of an emphasis on the theoretical at UCs.

g1a2b3e

your too smart for me

you guys are extremeley ignorant and narrow minded cept for gabe. stop listening to what your mommy tells you about college.

uc=good, csu=bad...

u guys are like cavemen. you ought to stop thinking on such a basic level and look at the big picture, instead of rankings.

theres nothing wrong with attending a state. they are more hands on and usually more personalized and give better preparation for going into the job market specifically. and they may not have the same weight of a uc berkeley degree, but in the long run, what the H E LL do you people know about life and the importance of a degree from X university. there are a million factors when it comes to getting jobs.

connections
level of education
experience
character
etc

and yeah, why did you post the exact same topic written differently? lol did you think you could fool us or something. you could have just bumped your original topic = )

Keep in mind that, for instance, the US News and World Report puts Cal States into the "Master's Universities" category. They aren't compared to "national universities" that offer many PhDs like the UCs.

The schools cater to different crowds.

the cal states cater to the unintelligent who need specific direction because they are too dumb to think for themselves.

^ that statement is so ignorant.

and where do you go, that would put in such a position to bash another University?

i go to riverside community college

but soon ucla

you go to a CC, and you think you have the right to bash CSUs?

At least they go to a four year institution. Last time I checked its a lot better to go to a CSU than a CC.

and dont give me that 'but soon UCLA' comment, as if that changes anything. Anyone can go to a CC and transfer if they put in the effort so dont feel special because technically you took the easier path.

Dont get me wrong, I'm all for community colleges, but it doesn't make sense for a you to make such ignorant comments directed at people who at least attend a four year university, unlike yourself = )

Didn't mean to be mean, but you're the one talking smack about CSUs and posting offensive comments about CSU students.

You should know first hand that CC students generally fit your description of a CSU student more accurately.
