<p>Are we allowed/is it recommended to use dialogue in the personal statement? I want to use my common app essay for one of the prompts, and it uses a couple of lines of dialogue. However, I have heard that UC applicants are not supposed to use dialogue, so do I have to get rid of it? Thoughts/opinions/advice??? Thank you :)</p>
<p>You can write the personal statement however you want. But since most students find the 1,000-word limit restricting, dialogue may not be the best format (as it eats up words like crazy).</p>
