UC Personal Statement Question!

<p>I have a question concerning Prompt #1 of the UC Personal Statement. The prompt is as follows: </p>

or school--and tell us how your world has shaped your dreams and inspirations.

<p>I've been thinking lately, and trying to come up with an original idea. Is the prompt absolutely intended to be taken literally? By this I mean does your response have to be literal? I was thinking about doing something more creative.</p>

<p>I assume it’s somewhat literal, but you could take your own approach to it. Just make sure you answer the question: How has the community/family/school shaped our world, dreams, and aspirations.</p>
