I’m a bit worried about my UC personal statements, considering that UCLA and UCB are my first choices. I heard from some that you should write very directly on the UCs (more than common app) while other people say that you should still write a story. Does anyone have any tips or input on my topic ideas (1. how I learned about risk-taking and constant faliure from indian classical music, which is 75% improvisation, 2. the importance of the growth mindset that I learned while teaching in a teaching fellowship, when I had a girl who was constantly embarrassed by how long it took her to understand math concepts;
3. an exchange program club I started in my school with students living in conflict-zones in the middle-east; 4. why I like economics- my major- after I took a community college class where I was exposed to so many different ideas- I really like that there are so many different schools of thought to learn from, that even contradict each other, even with all this much resaerch).
How important are the UC personal statements and does anyone have any tips?
