UC Prompt 1 and 2 Word Count

<p>Since the Word Count must add up to 1000 or less, will it hurt my chances if I write 700/300 (prompt1/prompt 2 respectively)? Or should I keep it at 600/400 or 500/500?</p>

<p>you can do it whatever way you want… I probably wouldn’t go past 750/250 however but that’s just me</p>

<p>I just read from some online college guidance website that the admission officers will think that

  1. you don’t know how to cut down in your 700 word essay and
  2. you don’t expand enough in your 300 word-essay,
    A double whammy.</p>

<p>@loveforSAT I have never heard this. It is completely the applicant’s choice how they want to do it and I do not think they will be penalized if they wish to elaborate on one point and be more concise on another.</p>
