UC Prompt 1 and 2

Hi everyone,

I’ve found some UC essays that worked in previous years online and one aspect that all of them shared was that they were written in a straightforward way. The UC website also states that they only consider the content, and not the writing style.

I thought about writing a straightforward essay for Prompt 1 and re-using my main CommonApp essay for Prompt 2 . Although my CommonApp essay wholly addresses Prompt 2, it is built upon a metaphor and written as a narrative.
Would you suggest me to rewrite the story?

Any other advice how to tackle the writing prompts?

The UCs don’t consider the writing style of your essay; only the content. That’s why many just write in a straightforward way, it’s easier and gets your points across.
