UC Prompt #1 Questions/Help Needed!

<p>Hey guys,</p>

<p>The Prompt:
"Describe the world you come from – for example, your
family, community or school – and tell us how your world
has shaped your dreams and aspirations."</p>

<p>Is storytelling looked down upon? </p>

<p>Here's an idea I have..
What do you guys think about me telling a story about how I started a "business" which in actuality is me opening a "Carpet Cleaning" stand one summer and then translating that story to how I love the concept of business (managing, marketing, etc.). </p>

<p>Any advice on this idea? Sound good? Is it "bold" enough? Should I limit any humor? ANYTHING you type on here is greatly greatly appreciated. Thanks.</p>

<p>Based on your description, I’d be concerned about the essay being superficial. A good essay needs to really tell the reader who you are, share deep emotions and leave the reader feeling you would be an asset to the campus. If you can convey all that with your idea then definitely go for it.</p>
