So for the second UC prompt (Tell us about a personal quality talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are?), I had written a draft about an event that happened when I was third grade and related it to who I am now, but I've heard mixed reviews about whether or not I should write a story about a time when I was so young. So I was wondering, just in general, is it bad to write an essay about a time when you were a lot younger than you are now or is that not really a taboo.

Hello! I just finished with my first draft and am getting it revised right now. For my prompt, I chose to talk about an event that happened within my high school career because it is still vivid to me where I can pick out details easier. I don’t know if it would be wrong to talk about something that long ago, as long as you can effectively relate it to who you are now. Maybe you could even do a timeline of how that certain event affected you as you grew older. Anyway, good luck.

I think it is really important in that case of reaching back to something in third grade that you really relate it to the person you are now. I would prefer to write about something that is coming from a experience that shows you as you are now. You have to be really careful with little kid memories if it is really going to be something relevant and interesting. If it is, then fine.
