<p>Hi,
I've perfected two personal statements for my UC Personal Statement Prompt #2.</p>
<p>One is a story(similar to the style of essays shared by JHU) that shows my qualities through a specific experience. </p>
<p>The other is the description of my personal quality as a literal statement, hence the "tell us" part of the prompt. It smoothly states my personality by vaguely touching a wide variety of experiences to cover a broader range of my personality.</p>
<p>Which prompt #2 should i use: the anecdote or the statement?</p>
<p>p.s. if you say the anecdote, do you think I should include a summary paragraph that summarizes my qualities?</p>
<p>It would be impossible to tell without thoroughly reading both but I would personally go with the “anecdote” essay simply based on the premise that essays that focus on a specific topic (as opposed to juggling many at the same time) often turn out better than those that do not. Whether one essay is better that the other, however, I cannot tell you. </p>
