hey guys the second prompt for transfer applicants states "Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that's important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud, and how does it relate to the person you are"

since I'm an immigrant, I thought it would be a good idea to write about how I was able to adjust to American culture and learn English......and I'd probably list this essay as the accomplishment that made me proud as stated at the end of the prompt

You guys think its a good idea????

I just finished my essay and it sounds more like a biographyyyy or a step by step process of how i was able to overcome cultural and lingual barriers

maybe im freaking out a litttle bit haha idk

I don't think it's a good idea to list your essay as something you're really proud of, just because I don't think you want to give the impression that APPLYING to college is your life's greatest accomplishment. Getting into college may be a really big step for you, but anyone can apply. Talk instead about something unique that you did, possibly that relates to your status as an immigrant. Good luck!

Do you have any... really unique accomplishments? Because to be honest, thousands of people applying are also immigrants, and we've all had to face the same obstacles. Not to say they aren't challenging, but if you can set yourself apart, make yourself special, you'll fare a better chance. And try your best not to make your essay a biography. They want a few important examples that are explained in detail, not a list of the things you've done your whole life.
