which of the uc's guarantee on campus housing for transfers? and and...on my fafsa i put down that i would live off campus for all the uc's...wut would happen if i were to change my mind?...would that affect how much money i will recieve (i am relying heavily on fin aid)...should i just change it to on campus housing just in case?

If you really think that you will end up wanting housing, i think you would obtain more aid if you put you plan to live on campus.

cal and la guarantee housing.
i know davis and santa barbara dont.
dunno about the others.

you can always change your financial aid stuff when you decide, i think.

irvine gives you housing, SD doesnt.

sd doesnt give u guaranteed housing for transfers? or none whatsoever?? can i still apply for it and hope to get it

for SD they dont "allow" transfer students to join dorm.. Not enough space.
so almost 0%

From most favorable to least (for housing) ^^ > '' > #$@##

Good ^_^
UCSC = Two years for all entering students including transfers
UCR = Two years garanteed for transfers :)
A+ for both

Good considering they are are considered to be the best academically '_'

CAL & UCLA = 1 Year (Cal garantees 1 year for all first year students entering cal) (UCLA is one year for transfers)
A-/B+

UCI is decent becuase they give 2 options & you can win a lottery 4 sr yr :-)
UCI = 1 Year for transfers (Campus Villlage and Arroyo Vista Blgs)
B+

??? & zzzzzzzz - you look; I don't care
UCM = Don't know; don't care (but probably a year or atleast if applying by deadlines)
B- (Lowered becuase they haven't finalized it and it is Merced)

The (slow) descent into bad housing options
UCD = No garantee, but if you apply early or ontime, there are a hundred or two spaces for transfers to get spots and there are apartments directly off campus. Also the housing dept is pretty good with finding off campus pads for yourself and your all nighters.

Grade C

UCSB = A few rooms but your really out of luck for on campus housing; atleast there is a temporary hotel operating only in Sept (and prob begining of other qaurters) to help you start and the fact that alot of students are in Isla Vista. prevents it from the lowest score.
C-

UCSD - The worst option for housing. There is nothing garanteed. The guides at my tour flat out told me they didn't think anything on campus would open up. La Jolla is one of the most expensive places in CA to live; nothing comes cheap. Most of the offcampus stuff is atleast 5-10 mins away becuase UCSD is on a hill surrounded by trees and grass overlooking the rich beach areas.

Grade: F

Not Ranked: UCSF

would it be stupid to choose uci over ucsd simply because of housing issues ==;;

collegebound- yah! i was thinkin about dat too lol! i want to experience dorm!
