UC recommendations

On one of the information booklets online for University of California, they said:
"UC does not require or solicit letters of recommendation for undergraduate admission." However, I've talked to many graduated students that it's still best to send in teacher recommendations (especially since I'm applying out of state). Problem is, the UC application doesnt open until October 1st, and I want to ask my teachers for recommendations now along with all the other colleges, so I won't have to ask them twice.

Is there a specific UC teacher recommendation form? And how would I know where to mail it to?

I've never heard of the UCs accepting teacher recommendations.
There is no form. Call the admissions office and ask them this question- maybe it's different for out of staters.

"UC does not require or solicit letters of recommendation for undergraduate admission."

They are telling you not to send recs. Don't annoy the UC adcoms by sending them something they don't want and won't read.

Many graduated students have said it's best to send teacher recommendations?

That's weird... the UC's don't need nor want teacher recommendations.

sorry, ahh, but at a recent info session, an UC adcom specifically said that students should NOT send recs as supplemental material bcos they will not read them.

oh ok.. thanks
