UC Riverside 2015 Transfer Thread

wow to me 70 is just right anything above is too hot but I guess it’s because I have always lived with perfect weather

My Growl is unavailable…it could be a good sign :slight_smile:

Just for ppl not from this area… I live in Cucamonga (not extremely far from UCR). Like any desert type area, there’s extreme heat as well as extreme cold, just not as cold as the high desert. This winter we actually had at least one week of absolutely freakin cold temps, colder than usual. High 30’s to low 40’s at night. I work out of Long Beach, San Pedro and Dana Point and at this time I was mostly going to Dana and let me tell you, even by the coast it was in the 40’s still in the mornings. You could even see snow at Camp Pendleton. Not to mention the recent snow day Huntington got. So yeah, most of the time we have absolutely gorgeous weather but we do get bouts of cold. Especially the last handful of years.

@SoCalStudent24‌ Thank you for letting us know! I was recently accepted to UCR and was curious how it was like up there.

@jazzzyjam‌ welcome :slight_smile: oh and it’s almost always a dry heat, personally I love it!

@SoCalStudent24 Dry heat is always better than humid heat.

@NewSocio‌ agreed, although I like the humid weather as well in diff circumstance. I was referring to the 90+ degree temps we get is what I love. Mid 80’s are the best, but I’d rather be hot than cold anyday lol.

Do you have to do the SIR to get the care package from ucr? I got admitted last week but I have not done SIR yet

@Ilovemovies‌

Nope! I haven’t submitted a SIR and I got my little care package. It comes with your ~official acceptance~ letter and a few other things like the scarf telling you why you should attend UCR (unless you’re speaking of a different care package…?)

Okay thanks i am just excited about the scarf since everyone seems to enjoy theirs.

Just got admitted under neuroscience major.

@Tristana So they do send out admissions on the weekend then?

Most likely Because my portal was having error yesterday…

Ok I just found out I am not admitted to UCSB. My last hope is UCSC and UCR. Come on UCR, accept me!

Yeah, I got rejected from ucsb because I didn’t finish botany.

Congrats @Tristana‌ I’m still playing the wait game
I hope to hear back soon!

@Tristana I knew I didn’t have a chance of getting in to UCSB since they are selective; especially with sociology with all the classes I was required to take. I just really hope UCR wants me.

@NewSocio‌ oh, I see.
I believe uc emphasize on prereq a bit more than gpa…
so, you’ll have a high chance if you meet that

Hey were we suppose to send in our transcripts or is that after we find out if we’re in or not?

It’s after you’re admitted & SIR
