My daughter still has no decision yet. She applied to business and has IGETC completed after this spring and a GPA of 3.93. I guess since she did not have tag they are just randomly reviewing the applications.
@StrummerNamedJoe I was in a similar position. I completed IGETC, completed the prerequisites for my major, and have over 60 UC transferable units. I ended up just e-mailing my admissions counselor about the question and got a reply back within a day or so. She said it was fine for me to drop the classes. I would highly recommend e-mailing the school though because every case may be different. I would just ask/inform them so that they will not be surprised about the dropped classes when they review your final transcript over the summer.
Thanks for the reply. I’ve emailed them but I imagine they’re pretty busy this time of year and they haven’t gotten back to me yet.
Still curious if anyone else has had a similar situation.

@StrummerNamedJoe the 90 unit limit is just that, a unit limit, it means you can’t transfer more than 90 units towards a bachelor’s degree. You will, however, transfer 100% of the credit for completing the course, so you won’t have to retake them.
@StrummerNamedJoe Sorry to double post, but I forgot to add that I got accepted and I have completed over 115 units. This is what I was told by a UCR counselor. Having over 90 units doesn’t matter, unless if you want those units to apply toward your degree, in which you have to get the dean’s approval
@p0o912
My question was more about whether my admission would be rescinded if I did not complete those extra classes as they are not needed for transfer.
@StrummerNamedJoe call the admissions office, that’s the only way you can be sure
@imagnetismi Thanks a lot!!
Still pending here too! Ugh… this is getting beyond frustrating. If history holds true and two tabs means I’m getting rejected, I would really like to know already! Either leave my tabs alone or let me know my status within a reasonable amount of time. Enough with these head games! (Sorry… I needed to vent!)
Alright guys, I’ve heard back from UCSB and UCSC; I’ve been denied to UCSB, but accpeted into UCSC. I’m happy I got accepted, but I’m still holding out for UCR!
@NewSocio Congrats! Which major did you apply to for UCSC? Soc? I’m still waiting to hear… (I applied to Soc for UCR and Feminist Studies for UCSC).
Accepted 4/7 sometime before 12:30 pm

Transferring from CSUSB although majority of my credits are from a CCC
Sent in paperwork for financial aid about 3 weeks ago but still haven’t been notified of an award. Has anyone submitted paperwork and heard back already (how long did it take) ?
@starkali Ya, I applied for Sociology! I’m really happy that I actually have someplace to go now, but I really want to get into UCR!
@kristyalene I submitted paper work recently and I still haven’t been notified of an award. You can try calling UCR’s financial aid office and they will direct you to your financial aid advisor. I actually just called but my financial aid advisor was out for lunch.
@sg0108 hey. I am also in a similar situation you were in. Unfortunately, I had to drop a class with a W, but my provision specifically indicated that I pass that class with a C or better. I have already emailed UCR admissions, updated my TAU, and left two voicemails when I called my admittance councilor. I am freaking out right now because I don’t want my admission to be rescinded. So out of curiosity, were the classes you dropped IGETC or required courses for your major? Thanks in advance
@Funsizee08 If that class specifically had to be passed with a C or better as noted in Provisional, I assume it’s IGETC or major prep, etc. If you withdrew, there is a very good possibility your admission will be rescinded. There is the small possibiity they will let you make it up in summer. Make sure you have a very good reason for the drop.
I just called and they said decisions will be finalized at the end of the month
