For some reason my portal no longer has the “alerts”, “announcements”, or any of the other tabs that went with. It only has my “account home” and “My profile” tabs. Has this happened to anyone?

@Myleezy that same thing happened to me too, I don’t know if that’s good or bad tbh. 
@Myleezy This happened to me as well. I’m thinking it’s either the page is loading slowly or it’s a denial. Whatever the case is, let’s be prepared for the worst. Remember this isn’t the end of the road for us. You and I and everyone else here will have a successful pathway.
UCR’s website absolutely sucks, so don’t make any assumptions about anything. Keep hanging in there.

Strengths: Strong essays, lots of community service, leadership positions
Weaknesses: Low GPA and SAT
I applied to four UC schools (Irvine, Davis, Santa Cruz, Riverside) and UCR was the only one that accepted me. Not gonna lie, UCR was not my top choice and I wasn’t exactly thrilled about the outcome, but I’ve come to realize that college is what you make of it. If you go to college with a negative mindset, that attitude will determine how much you’ll get out of it. This is something I have to remind myself every day.
If you’re in a similar situation and you feel pretty bummed, try to have a different perspective. College is not only a place to learn but also an opportunity to grow. Try to reach out and make new friends, try joining various extracurriculars and clubs, try engaging in different activities and social events. Life will be a whole new experience if you try.
I wonder what’s my chance of getting in since I’m Waitlisted… I really want to come here 
Denied to UCI AND UCR Applied to every single UC and was Denied! Just waiting on UC Merced. UC system is getting much much worse…even the lower tiers are getting harder to get into, and I am reading many articles on the explosion of applicants.

Major: Mechanical Engineering
Wanted to stay in state. Just Accepted to New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology for Mechanical Engineering! Received Presidential scholarship because of test scores… of 37K over 4 years!!! Tuition now down to 17K a year. I also get to work on Research with professors as a freshman. I think this might be a hidden gem of a school! Plan to eventually apply to masters program at UC Berkeley or UCLA.
@DPattt Right? I thought UCR is suppose to be easier to get in but I guess not lol

Did some of you accept the Waitlisted offer ? Sometimes I feel like I’ll give up because they take too long to get back to us. What if I submit my SIR to a cal state but then get accepted to UcR? even though I really want to go there but since my family don’t have a lot of money, it would be a waste. Sigh idk what I should do because it’s risky and i don’t even know if I’ll have a high chance of getting in…Any advice ? Please thank you.
