@redtube,
Call and ask as to why you were rejected.

Then definitely appeal. you showed a major upward curve in grades unless you have been doing very bad at your CCC.

^ I’m assuming this has to do with the rule about having to be in good standing at all previously attended UC campuses. …?

@sas148. Are you planning on appealing their decision? Your stats are pretty solid and by seeing people with such high gpas get rejected I’m getting even more worried. Also, I think I saw your post on ucr’s fb page!

Still nothing :((((

Not accepted to environmental engineering but accepted to my alternate major: environmental sciences.

I couldn’t zoom in on my phone to see exactly what the pop-up message. Do I just send them an email asking them changing to my alternate major?

@Purronyou
Thats strange, is there any reason why you wouldn’t be accepted into engineering? have you not done at least two semesters of physics and finished calculus. If you have the prereqs done I would contact them by phone to get a faster response. Especially if UCR is where you want to go.
Good Luck!

I got rejected. 3.3 GPA. Chemical Engineering as my major. Completed every pre req. I am currently taken the last math course and O Chem 2 and that’s all I have left. Last semester I got all A’s in 17 units and I’m very upset that I got rejected…

Accepted to UC Riverside!

@biomedicaleng I’m coming from out of state on the semester schedule and my school doesn’t allow you to take Gen Phys 1 without also taking Calc 2. So I have taken Calc 1, 2, & Phys 1. It was my lack of Chem (I’m guessing). My original intended major was architecture (only req is A science series, I picked Bio) but I switched objectives half-way through the fall semester. I wouldn’t be able to handle my spring semester plus chem, but I applied to schools anyway. Not keeping my hopes up for UCI but I might have a shot at UCSD where environE is t impacted & I haven’t seen any required prep courses other than those required by the U for transfer.

Accepted
Mechanical Engineering
3.54 UC GPA

At this point I really wish I was in CA where I could talk to college advisors about what classes I should be/have taken. blerg… UCSD is out the window too. I found the prerequisite pages… -__- This sucks.

@fonzynator I truly feel for you. I’m sorry :/. I’m sure chemical engineering is no easy major either. If you can get through ochem, you can truly survive almost anything. If it means anything, I think you’re really smart, and I think UCR did not make a very bright decision… sorry :(

Accepted to ucr!

2.8GPA, accepted to Econ/Administrative
STRONG upward trend. 4.0 for the last few semesters.

Rejected… Business Admin 3.0 GPA missing pre reqs.

Upper, did you complete or have your Calculus 1 course? I applied for the exact same major as you, with almost the same GPA (2.9) and a strong upward trend as well (3.0-3.4’s), have IGETC completed, math course satsified with college algebra. However the problem is I’m missing the Calc 1 course, and I am taking 2 of the pre-req’s for the major this current semester. The only thing I have gotten from the campus so far was a message asking for my unofficial transcript, did you get that as well?

Accepted transfer for Chemical Engineering with 3.2 GPA. Going to complete Differential Equations and OChem 2 this semester. Have only done the first class of physics series.

It seems like the engineering decisions were so random… jeez. Those of you who got rejected should definitely call and ask why…

Yeah I called yesterday and they said they would get back to me. I really want to know why. I’ve completed everything on the IGETC as well and the physics series. Taking linear algebra and diff equations and O chem 2 at the moment. Hopefully they respond.

Im super surprised I got just got accepted yesterday with a 2.82 gpa for business economics.I for sure thought I was going to get rejected since it was taking forever.
