<p>UC Riverside is on the bottom of my list of applied to schools but even so I've been asked (by them) to go on a campus tour this Saturday. I've also been asked to attend a 'scholarship' supper later in the spring. I've heard alot of bad things about UCR. Can anybody tell me why I wouldn't want to go to UCR?</p>
<p>From what I’ve heard, Riverside is a flat desert and very boring.</p>
<p>Plus it’s the perennial cellar dweller of the UC system, I doubt many people know the school on the East Coast, let alone outside of Cali unless you applied.</p>
<p>When I went to visit UC Riveraide it literally felt like I was in the middle of the desert. But that’s the only thing I don’t like about the school. I did like how they have a restaurant and a citrus garden.</p>
<p>What’s your major? I’ve heard good things about their engineering and business programs. They are also getting a new medical school so that will definitely help their image.</p>
<p>Go to the tour and apply for the scholarship. It is frankly tiring hearing people belittle a school for no good reason. </p>
<p>The faculty are top notch. The chancellor there was just hired to lead the entire CSU system which tells you how highly regarded he is.</p>
