***UC San Diego Class of 2020 Decisions Thread***

I guess since this is my problem I need to fix this.

By “Are you going to San Diego State?” Please remove San Diego State and insert UC San Diego as well as “CSU GPA” remove CSU and insert “UC” (despite of the UC GPA and the CSU GPA being the same), then insert the information if you are willing to give it out online. Sincere apologies from the OP, I was in charge of the San Diego State Class of 2020 thread as well.

@honcho

well, I promise you that this is not a false statement. Several people from my school DID get rejected.

Decision: Accepted

  • Strengths: lots of extracurriculars, test scores, COSMOS, essays
  • Weaknesses: perhaps my SAT math score, but hopefully I made up for that with my SAT II subject test score
  • Are you going to UCSD: maybe!
  • If not, where are you going?: haven’t heard back yet from many other schools

General Comments/Additional Information:
Honestly, I spent a month at UCSD during the summer working in their bioengineering facilities and I loved it there! UCSD is right now at the top of my list until I hear back from some of my other schools.
I was also awarded Regents Scholar so I’m pretty pumped :slight_smile:

I agree with someone from earlier who said they think that UCSD is accepting more California students, last year at my school (also in San Diego) there were only 10-15 acceptances and this year i think there are at least 20 this year

theyre accepting 5,000 more students because the UC system got more funding and one of the things they have to do is accept 5,000 more students into the UC systems and they have to be CA residents

Decision: ACCEPTED!

did a lot of people hear today? I keep checking my portal and nothing:( does that mean rejection?

Does anyone know if the admission is really related to what major you have applied for?

@jerseycali No! I don’t think so. The recent decision releases was only the second batch. The third batch is on March 30th, so I believe. Have faith my dude!

The UC’s are accepting 5000 more applicants system wide not just at one campus.
