UC San Diego

I went to a really hard, rigorous private school sophmore year. my gpa was 3.2
freshman year, took almost all honors courses, got 3.5 gpa
junior, i have a 3.6 (taking ap and ib classes)
all of this combined gives me a 3.3 gpa unweighted (not very good!!!)
this is my first semester of junior year

extracurriculars:
-went on a state-department funded trip (had to apply). we had to do a project when we came back, i did a stream clean up

  • certified yoga teacher
  • did global youth village (had to apply)
  • more than 100 SSL hours (i dont remember exact amount)
  • model un
-varsity cross country since freshman year
  • varsity track since sophmore year

other things:
-had some mild learning disabilities sophmore year (which accounts for lower gpa than i wanted)
-my dad went here

I was wondering how much i could raise my gpa? and should i consider UC San Diego as my reach school?

See your other thread. I would address your disabilities in one of the UC essays if they impacted your grades significantly.

Son got in UC San Diego. We don’t quite understand the relationship among its 7 colleges, and the relationship between each college and Jacobs engineering school. Son was admitted as an undeclared major. What does this mean? I think any student will graduate with a major.
