<p>How hard do you think it's going to be to get accepted to UCSD nowadays, versus the rest of the UC's and past years.</p>

<p>I'm super worried cuz all my scores and gpa are super borderline with the avg accepted at UCSD and I REALLY want to go to UCSD... :(</p>

<p>I'm California resident. SAT II's are more important for UC's and I'm pending my 10/9 scores which will hopefully be an improvement. Just a quick idea of already received scores:
SAT I: 660v 630m
ACT: 28
SAT II Writing: 660 (hopefully better in 10/9 retake)
SAT II Math IC: 540 (SHIZA. hopefully better in 10/9 retake)
SAT II US History: 650
SAT II Literature: took 10/9
UW GPA: 3.57 (ARGGHHH)
UC GPA: 3.73
Regular h.s. gpa: 4.19
private all girls high school
lots of ordinary e/c's...non varsity sports, small web design company, active in school service and church, piano, photography, etc etc</p>

<p>This is depressing! Everyone on CC has like at least a 1400 and like 4.0UW gpa's.... :(</p>

<p>Ur below average for ucsd, and your ecs arent great. ucsd is still possible, u just need great personal statements.</p>

<p>by the way what college is your first choice (of ucsd 6 colleges). Not that it will affect your admission</p>

<p>this is so depressing cuz i know i'm a little below the middle averagge. i wish i never visited any colleges and just wait til i get acceptance letters and decide from there.. i've visited ucsd so many times and i've even joined ucsd messageboard online, talk to friends who got into ucsd... I'M SO OBSESSED. i'm probably setting myself up for a big disappointment.</p>

<p>maybe next friday when 10/9 sat 2 scores come out ill have a big improvment.</p>

<p>i got a 10 on my sat 2 writing essay for that 660 and i got a bunch of stupid mc wrong thats why i did so bad :(. i know a lot of people who got a lot worse essay than me and got over 700....</p>

<p>try to get ur sat 2's up a bit. ur ec's r kinda lack of, but i think u got a decent chance. im out of state, i live in vegas. i got in with a 1220 and i had horrible sat 2s. i had two 600 ranges and one 500 range, so i defiantely think u have a shot. good luck</p>

<p>Here are the average Fall 2004 accepted stats for UCSD: 4.05 UC GPA, 1298 SAT, 649 SAT II Writing, and 666 SAT II Math. To be honest, your stats are more in line with those of UCSC (3.73, 1198, 598, 601) than UCSD. If I were you, I'd apply to all the UCs except UCB/UCLA.</p>

<p>thanks.. i'm applying to all the uc's except irvine and merced. i mean it doesn't hurt to apply to berk and la too even if chances are slim b/c it's all one application anyways. i got guaranteed acceptance at riverside but i doubt i want to go there.</p>

<p>I say you chances are neither great, nor terrible. I would say it's a match/slight reach as a california resident.</p>

<p>essays verrrrrrrrrry important....if your having trouble go get a college counselor especially one thats a top professor at Cal like mine :) lol trust me they help with every aspect of admissions. its worth the money. I think you have a 50/50 chance of getting in. i know, the competetiveness of UCSD has increased soo much since I was a freshman, its ridiculous. you have a good chance at UCSB. good luck!</p>

<p>Good luck. I personally think you can get in w/ no problem, since I have a friend who got in with even lower stats. Then again, he applied through a minority program.</p>
