These are my top 3 schools that I've gotten into so far and I plan on doing electrical engineering. LMU will cost just a little bit more than UCSB because they offered me a merit scholarship. After my bachelor's, I most likely will go to grad school for a master's in Business or something similar. I've heard that UCSB gets grants from the government for engineering, while Cal Poly doesn't (I don't know if that's entirely true or not). Obviously LMU would have tons of money, it being a private school, but I don't know anything about it's engineering department.

Not all private universities are wealthy. You need to check endowment and other financial numbers to see how wealthy the private university actually is.

How much does CPSLO cost relative to UCSB and LMU?

you might want to post in the school forums. UCSB forum has had a lot of engineering students posting there, although it is a bit quieter now that decisions are out. I understand the program there is excellent, however. I understand it is also great at SLO however, and here I would want to double check with someone more familiar with the respective programs, I understood SLO aimed more for the immediate market than for grad school. I also understand that 50% of UCSBs graduating seniors are involved in original research. One thing about being at an UNDERGRADUATE focused research university is that there are uncommon opportunities for undergraduates, there not being as many grad students there.

Having said that, I am comfortable talking about UCSB to some extent, but don’t know about the other schools.
