I want to go to NYU, but the cost is way too high!! I'm not sure if I'll get the money for it!! So I want to have a backup film school. I know USC has an excellent film school but the cost per year is exactly like NYU. I hardly know anything about UCSB. If you guys can give me your opinion about UCSB or any advices on this school's film program, I would really appreciate it!!

I am also looking at the UCSB film program. The difference is it is a film studies program which is a critical analysis of Film/the industry. It covers a wider region of film but, does not have a film production major option like other schools such as UCLA. Although there is no film production option, students have the ability to use 16mm and 35mm cameras for their own projects and there is less competition and more freedom. This is what I’ve concluded from research.
If you got into USC then there are ways to pay for tuition like federal aid money, and loans, I wouldn’t miss out on the chance to learn from the best in the industry for such a little thing.
