I have been admitted to both of these schools for fall 2016. Could you please give me an opinion as to which I should attend? I will be studying computer science.

UBC is much cheaper (5k compared to 50k at UCSB). However, that is not a major concern - quality of education takes precedent.
No school is worth an additional $45K/year or $180K/4 years in my opinion.
Both are perfectly good for CS. Save the $180,000 and go to UBC.

The UCs are bringing in OOS students to help fund the school and keep instate rates lower. As a CA taxpayer let me tell you that the obvious choice here is UCSB!!
