uc santa barbara?

out of state so i know my chances will be low to start.

GPA:3.5 unweighted

about 50 hours of community service and a good amount of ec's

didn't take sat's yet

ps: would be going for marine biology

i dont know. it really depends on your SAT score.

hey i’m going to ucsb for marine biology! but yeah, what patricklin27 said, it depends on your SAT score. you’re GPA is kind of low especially since you’re out of state..that might hurt your chances..

Generally, out-of-state for UCSB would be 3.65 UW with a 1950 SAT. If you get close to these numbers (or can move your SAT up to 2050 to make up for the 3.5 UW GPA), then you’ll have a chance.

Be aware, however, that marine biology is probably the most competitive of all the majors at UCSB besides chemistry. You might want to apply as an “undecided” and then transfer in to marine biology after you get accepted to the school.

Good luck.
