Hello all, I will be applying to Uc Santa Cruz this fall as an in-state applicant. I plan on majoring in computer science or robotics. I am trying to get recruited for cross country there but if that does not happen I would like to hope that I can get into the school without getting recruited. I do plan on retaking the SAT this October but not the ACT. Also I had a decent UC gpa rise from my sophomore to junior year. My sophomore year gpa was around a 3.7 both semesters and my junior year gpa was a 4.1 both semesters. Will that boost my chances a little because I heard admissions people like to see improvement? Finally if I don’t improve my sat score when I take it again in October will my low math score significantly hurt my chances?

@irvingvsoto: You need to start your own thread for chancing so all the replies will be specific for your situation. I will chance you on your own thread.
Folks…before you start automatically indicating that these kids are “in” keep in mind that UCSC is not “easy” by any measure. It really depends on your declared major. If you are looking to the sciences or one of the majors that is unique to SC then it may be very competitive. I’d say some of the test scores are low for science major but gpa should be good.
