@unizee I’m not sure but I don’t think so. He’s trying not to freak out too much so he’s not really paying attention to any of the “before” stuff and never gets on here. He has fairly good stats though and was accepted to Davis so I think he has a good shot at UCSC. The email you describe sounds like a great sign though- good luck! What state are you from? We are in Florida…
does santa cruz do early admits? bc my told me she knows someone who got in to santa cruz bc they emailed her but the email didn’t specify which major, just said that she was in. idk when she got that email either. and she didn’t say if it was regents either. My mom could have faulty information but I just wanted to check
@happywaffles Yes. Santa Cruz sent out an early admit email in February. However, it didn’t mention anything about regents or majors.
^^ Yes, My D got the early acceptance email, but it said her portal would be updated with further information when decisions are released. No merit, financial, or major information in it.
Sorry guys; I was not paying close attention yesterday. Has it been generally agreed that the decision will not be released until next week, or later?
My D’s early acceptance email says regular decisions March 15, on the portal.
We’re in Arizona. Your son has great stats - I’ve heard a lot of kids with high stats got rejected from Davis this year, so I’ll bet he’s a sure thing for UCSC. I have my fingers crossed for you,
Hi, Did you get the “Opportunities await you!” and “Physical and Biological Sciences: An Introduction” email from USCS before getting an acceptance email? My D also applied for Astrophysics at UCSC. She has 34 ACT, 790 Math II and 760 Physics but bit lower OOS GPA and not sure what UC GPA is.

@CF – I know we got that email but don’t know if it was before or after acceptance.
@CF – Email on science came a few days after acceptance and referenced the acceptance – I just checked. The OOS opportunities await email came a few days before acceptance. Good luck to your student.
