UC Santa Cruz Rejection, Berkeley Acceptance

Are there others??? Or is it just me??? :D :D :D

Congrats!...

Thanks! I am flying high over my sorry midwestern state! :p

^ Oh, are you an OOS admit?

@chey - Congrats! Berk must have seen something special in you!
Guess SC didn't want you surfing their beaches! LOL
Congrats!

Yes, I am, but I was born in CA and lived there until I was 11 when my parents tore me away kicking and screaming! The trauma! (In fact, one of my essays was about the experience.)

^ well, welcome back! ;)

Chey Chey, did you write the essay about your experience for Berkley's app or SC's app ... or both?

^^ the application should be the same for both, because there is only one application :)

nice! Congrats.. I'm sure you deserve it.

what are your stats like?
i got into UCI UCD UCSB UCB but not UCLA or UCSD lol

When I applied as a transfer student, I got into UCI and UCB - rejected by UCLA and UCSD as well. I was transferring from a Socal CSU, so that had something to do with it, I think.

Well my family pays income taxes and we have an address in CA but we've been living overseas all of my high school years, so I was probably not in-state..lol..

Conclusion: It's quite arbitrary..

I got into UCB and UCLA but was rejected from UCI... lol.

To the OP:
Congrats! Isn't SC kind of a party school anyways?

FellowCCViewer:
Hey, I got instate with the same situation. Maybe you got it, too. :P

Since you got into both UCLA and UCB, you must have had a strong application! Perhaps UCI saw that and decided not to offer you as they may have judged it would be a waste of time to attract you to UCI
LOL

Congrats !

Well, I know for UCSD, I wasn't considered in-state. -_- Maybe difference campuses did it differently..
