***UC Santa Cruz Transfer Decision Thread 2019***

Just checked didn’t get anything yet!

Still waiting here, my brother commented earlier, he got his admission around 12am, for neuroscience.

I’ve been feverishly refreshing my page in an admittedly futile hope it’ll come today. Guess I’ll have to be patient for now. I hope that transfer admissions aren’t a repeat of last year (at least based on the 2018 UCSC transfer thread…) Seemed that the rolling admission was pretty slow… let’s hope that’s not the case this year.

Major: Politics
GPA: 3.23 (with TAU)
IGETC Completed, just have a physical science class w/lab that I’m currently finishing.
Major Prereqs finished

@mtar25 I’m also a Politics major. Guess they haven’t released for us yet lol

Major: Business Management Economics (Accepted)
GPA: 3.89
IGETC Completed
Prerequisites completed
Waiting: UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, USC and UW Seattle

Waiting for CS. Anyone else?

Hi everyone, Still waiting also.
however some goodnews, my boyfriend was accepted for bus/econ he tagged, i didn’t (was short a few units)…probably explains why I haven’t heard back yet. We both have similar majors, gpa’s are in the low 3s and we’ll both have prereqs/igetc done by the end of semester.
I’ve read the 17’18’ transfer thread, looks like they let tag and super qualified people know first.
Goodluck to future banana slugs & congrats to those already accepted.

No response yet, applied as bio with a 3.4, lots of ECs, strong essays, all pre-reqs except one done, the one that isnt done is in progress, igetc complete, last name letter M still waiting.

My daughter is still waiting. All prereqs complete.
4.0 gpa sociology.
IGETC complete
Last name starts with “N”
No TAG ( tagged UCSB)

I’m hoping for 12am notifications haha, let’s see what happens. Good luck to everyone! It may feel like an eternity but we’re almost there.

Didn’t get anything at midnight either. Politics major with last name “N”

@goldenhobbes At this point, it seems like the next wave will be several days from now.

I got nothing, either. It’s at least reassuring to know there are two other politics majors here in the same boat as me.

@okurrr @californiatopaz @uctransfer947 @pammy564 @isat99 Congratulations to you all! Wondering when you all submitted your TAU? do you remember the date? and if you all did it before Jan 31st? and if so maybe they look at them in the order they were submitted?

I submitted my TAU on Jan 8th and haven’t heard anything

Submitted my TAU on the 8th as well and still waiting. I did, however, send in my applications last minute

@kristinpete I did as well, sent on Nov. 30th. Maybe that has something to do with it?

I submitted my apps on the 15th and my TAU the first day, and I still haven’t heard anything

Does UCSC take your TAU into account when calculating your GPA? I know that most UCs don’t but SC extended their due date to February 15th so I would think they’d want to see winter semester grades.

The GPA is only counted through fall but any new grades they see after may be taken into consideration, at the discretion of the UC.

I know it’s only the second day but I’m so impatient and nervous. Especially since I have a GPA under 3.0, (2.97).

I also misspoke earlier when I said my Prereq’s and IGETC were done. I meant that they would be completed this semester, I’m currently taking Critical Thinking and Calc 2.

I was looking at last year’s thread and I guess a bunch of comp sci majors were denied acceptance with that major because they didn’t have all their prereq’s already completed, even if they were in progress for the spring semester. Hoping that doesn’t happen to any of us.

I wish I knew how much consideration they take into EC’s and Personal Insight Questions. I’m a marine bio major, I think my essays were strong, I’ve been working at a non-profit aquarium for the past two years, and I’m doing an independent research project on Sea Star Wasting Disease this semester. Hoping that makes me look more competitive and makes up for my lower GPA. I also just got a job with CA Dept. of Fish and Wildlife as a Scientific Aid, really wish I could have put that on my app.
