What would be better for premed: UC Santa Cruz or UC Davis?
Where will you get better prehealth advising and clinical opportunities? Where are you likely to graduate with a stronger GPA? What are the pros and cons of each?

@WayOutWestMom your opinion?
Don’t know much about UCSC, but I know a couple of UCD grads who are went to med school. They felt Davis was an a good pre-med experience. Good advising, plenty of opportunities to get research, clinical exposure, community service with the disadvantaged. I was also told by one that UCD favored their own in med school admissions.
GPA is really dependent on the student, not the school, but neither of those at Davis had issues maintaining a strong GPA/sGPA for med school admissions.
Davis is a stronger pre-med/pre-vet school compared to UCSC so I’d lean in that direction. Where does the student see themselves doing well and being happy? That can make a big difference since you can get into med school from either place.
