UC Santa Cruz vs University of San Francisco - I need opinions

Hey guys. So at this point I’m deciding between these two colleges that I got into: UC Santa Cruz and University of San Francisco. I’m majoring in psychology and minoring in music.

UC Santa Cruz

Pros: seems to have a better psychology program than USF, better professors(?), almost half the cost of USF, it’s a UC, beautiful campus, i know people that go there so it’s not like i’d be completely alone for a while
Cons: i’m not into nature or beaches, i don’t like santa cruz, music isn’t a huge thing (ex: no marching band bc sports aren’t a huge thing), i won’t be as close enough to home, i’m not into the culture, i visited the campus 2 times and i really didn’t like it, didn’t get any financial aid

University of San Francisco

Pros: i feel that i truly fit into USF well, I grew up constantly visiting the city so it’s familiar enough, Catholic/Jesuit, close to home, more opportunities for internships and connections, good psychology program, i might be able to teach percussion in my high school’s marching band as a job, got merit scholarship of 10k
Cons: HELLA expensive… might possibly be able to afford it with scholarships but not sure, extremely competitive housing, does not seem to have as good of a psychology program as ucsc, it’s San Francisco with its ridiculous prices

I suppose it’s really a matter of what I’m willing to sacrifice and I know money is a huge factor that can’t be controlled. However I just don’t want to be so isolated in a place I don’t like at all, and I feel like that might have an affect on me as a student.

Do you think I should suck it up and go to UCSC even though I don’t like the location, culture, etc.? Or should I keep trying to get more scholarships to go to USF but spend a shit ton of more money?

Thanks so much anyone; I really need outside/new opinions. Also sorry if I sound ungrateful or something. That is not my intention and I hope that’s not how I sound.

If spending more money to go to USF puts you into debt, then it’s probably not worth it.
