My son just got in off the waitlist for biochemistry! Very happy for him; this feels like some small validation. He’s committed to U of Arizona and still on the waitlist at Cal Poly. It looks like he’s got a few days to make his decision. Good luck to everyone else. You all deserve this after a wack year.

We had committed to SJSU CS. Few days ago he got off waitlist for CS at UCR.
Son got off the waitlist for CS at UCSC today. In state.
"Congratulations! We are pleased to offer you admission to the University of California, Santa Cruz in the major of Proposed Computer Science. "
Deadline to accept is May14.

Congratulation! Do you mind tell me your son’s Unweighted GPA? Did they send a email tell you they updated?
UC GPA Weighted 4.56 Unweighted 3.97.
He was on 5 UC waitlists. UCSD, UCD, UCSB, UCSC, UCR (now accepted at UCR and UCSC)
Not accepted at UCB, UCLA, UCI.
Had applied only for CS or Data Science major.
It was rough few weeks.
Now need to decide on CS between SJSU & UCSC. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

Interesting. Seems like those getting pulled off the waitlist have very high GPAs. Not that I’m surprised, just trying to understand the method to the madness.

UC GPA Weighted 4.42 Unweighted 3.91
He was on 4 UC waitlists. Off wait-list as SC for alternate major Computer Engineering. Will likely reject. He is now almost sure he wants to attend SJSU CS. If he gets off wait-list at SLO, he might go there. This year has been brutal for admissions. He has also done bunch of courses in CC (DeAnza).

Congrats. I am sure last few weeks must have been stressful. I am sure he must be thrilled.
With CS SJSU - proximity to tech scene makes it tough choice between SJSU CS vs UCSC Comp E. One factor is campus (in city SJ vs UC campus at SC). Plus SLO Waitlist. No good answers or maybe all good answers.
