This is what we received on May 2. Again, no portal update just and email.
I wanted to update you on your status as a student who accepted UCSC’s waitlist offer. Earlier today we offered some waitlisted students admission for fall 2018, and while you were not among that group, it most likely won’t be the only offers of admission we’ll be granting from the waitlist.
I know this can be an anxious time, and we appreciate your patience while we continue to closely monitor the number of students accepting their offers of admission. If it appears we still have space in our entering class, we will make more offers of admission from the waitlist no later than early June.
This is the same my daughter received! Let’s hope for the best;)
@Kentaro082599 are you in-state in california or OOS? and can you provide us proof (like a screenshot with personal info blurred out) that you got off the waitlist?
@vinashana I really think that person was just trying to be mean. I don’t actualky think they got off the waitlist.
It’s going to be crystal clear when the waitlist notifications come out. These random posters posting blurry details and odd statements are obviously false and it’s apparent to those of us that have been around a while (both in age as a well as in this particular thread).
My D as well as several friends are all on the waitlist (3 that I know of appealed).
Any notifications that D has received, they have too. We are in San Francisico, public school.

Kentaro is a Japanese name, so his post might be legitimate as an international student.

students on their waitlists first.

Excuse me for asking, but what do you mean appealed? They were not initially invited to the waitlist like our students but appealed and were added afterward,

@Tiscollette … I’m not sure if you were referring to my post? To clarify, my D and several of her classmates appealed (submitted an appeal even though they were/are on the waitlist). All of them received denials/rejection notifications to their appeals. They are all still on the waitlist.
