It is unfortunate how this is playing especially since the UC schools are potentially looking at more work for themselves during the summer. Last minute withdraws from original SIRs people not fully committing to orientations or class registration, housing/roommate matches being redone.
Nothing earth shattering to add. Just pondering the waitlist agony and how it’s dragged on.
Anyone else read through the waitlist threads for UCD and UCSB for a shred of a clue on UCSC waitlist chances? It’s been hard coming here for months, multiple times a day, refreshing the portal … it’s obsessive and totally frustrating. The odds are against us, but until we get our answer there is agony and a sliver of hope.
I’ve checked out the other waitlists too. This is going on for a lot of people. It’s also really interesting to read the different “tones” of the various school’s lists and the people responding. Keeping good thoughts.
The school which I am currently committed to (out-of-state) has an orientation early July.
I’ve already booked flights and shuttle rides to the campus.
I really hope Santa Cruz waitlist results come out before then, because it would really suck to meet my advisor, sign up for classes, and get my ID card for the other school, and then have to bail out at the end moment if I get off.
When UC admissions is better at preventing information leaks than the White House 8-|
Only international student and out of state student got their decision? Are there any in state student got in the waitlist yet?
None that has been reported here or that I have heard about…
Hope for news this week
Does anyone know if they will admit us undeclared if space for our major is full?
I would be down to declare my major in a year or two.
(applied as a game design major in Jack Baskin btw)
Does anyone know when they will let people off the waitlist!!
It is literally taking forever, it is already late May! When are we going to know when, how many, and who are going to be let off the waitlist
Sorry i’m impatient…
No, and I think the decision might come out after our graduation, but I hope I was wrong.
Also, does anyone know the acceptance rate for the waitlisted student and a estimate how many (number or percentages) they might take this year
Does anyone know how to decline the UCSC waitlist position? I got accepted off the waitlist for UCB and it would be awful if I was accepted instead of someone who’s top choice was UCSC.
@Intelectric thanks man!
Thanks to you, us waitlisted guys will have a better chance of getting into UCSC.
Definitely call the admissions office and tell them you no longer want to attend.
Best of luck at Cal, it’s a damn good school and you deserve it!
Not really. His spot would just be given to someone else if he didnt respond. Just helps with the timing
respond to whom? santa cruz or berkeley? @HelloThere12321
and would his spot at berkeley or SC be given?
It’s almost June and we are doubting that they will accept people off the waitlist (at least for in state students). If they needed people, they would’ve had another wave by now. I hope I’m wrong but the truth hurts.
@vinashana-That’s the same major for which my son is wait listed. I guess it’s largely impacted major. Sorry, I don’t know if they will let people into a less impacted major. I wish I did! Maybe I’ll have him ask via email or phone call but I am leaning toward thinking that they won’t do that.
I am not giving up!! I am more than sure they are letting people off or else they would have not sent that email! People do not give up!!
