Ya it’s back up, it was gone temporarily and was trying to access another ucsc site for some reason, I tried opening that site and it was down, when the site went back up so did the post so for whatever reason pisa.ucsc.edu is tied to that message

@fmobed if they say anything it will be a little after 4. That is usually when they release any information or emails
haven’t heard back anything yet
the last wave of rejections was before 4PM…I don’t think they’ve ever released any decisions after 4PM besides the very first on March 15th
so all the rest of the responses are going to be acceptances?

I guess it also partially depends on other schools. I believe UCSD is yet to finalize its waitlist, and maybe after it does, people from here who get off there go and then spaces open up for us.
You could also try calling up the admissions and asking them nicely for any status update. Since it is June, they should be knowing.
Also, i was speaking to someone who got off the waitlist last year and he said it happened 1 week before D-Day.
Do you guys think there were more people rejected or still in the running after the waitlist rejections a few days ago?
@vinashana imo I think more people were rejected because all the waitlisted students at my school were rejected except for me. Also, more people on this forum were rejected than kept on the waitlist so it is probably a small number. That still doesn’t mean that we are going to get accepted though. Seems like there is a small number of openings left at the school and it just depends on how many people accept the waitlist. Wouldn’t be surprised if we get our decision next week
@newapplicant101 you gotta understand that not everyone on the waitlist will matriculate if accepted. Sure, you, me, and a few other guys are on this thread because we want to attend.
But others may not care - they may be at a school they love more, or have decided that even if they do get off the waitlist, they’d rather go to community college and transfer somewhere better.
Hey guys, does anyone know how to opt out of the waitlist? I recently was offered admission from the waitlist at CP SLO and would rather go there than UCSC so I thought I’d opt out so someone else can have my spot if I get offered admission at UCSC

call them now, before they accept you off the ucsc waitlist too.
by calling them sooner rather than later, you still get to go to cal poly, and we have a higher chance of getting off at UCSC

i mean whether he opts out or is admitted and doesnt accept that still leaves another spot for another student at UCSC, the only difference is when the student may be notified

@jackattack825 really? I thought they accept more people than they have space for and then reject the rest, So I thought him contacting Cal Poly before (potentially) getting off the UCSC waitlist would affect our yield.
Im not sure I understand what you are trying to say, but colleges accept more than what they have space for for regular admissions, not Waitlist
The Waitlist is used when more students decide not to attend then what the school wants, so they fill the extra slots with waitlisted students
sorry, i realized my last comment had lots of errors.
I thought that generally they accept more people off the waitlist than they have space for, because they know not everyone admitted off the waitlist will matriculate.
Maybe I was wrong.
