<p>Do UC schools let you defer admission???</p>

<p>my understanding is that no deferrals are allowed-- you must re-apply</p>
<p>is there any sort of backdoor way to do it...my friend got into UCSC with a 2.8 GPA from out of state (don't ask me how)..and he really wants to go there, but for it to work financially he needs to defer a year.</p>

<p>You can defer your admission to UCB for Spring Semester instead of Fall Semester if they offer you the choice. :rolleyes:</p>
<p>it's kind of a bad situation, because, if he waits a year, he will be ineligible to reapply...apparently they are raising the GPA cutoff next year, and a 2.8 won't do it. (plus he doesn't think he'll get that lucky again)</p>
