Was just wondering if it would be fine just to send my best ACT and SAT Subject Test Scores to the UCs, as opposed to all. I know the Subject tests and ACTs have score choice, so even though the UCs ask for all, wouldn’t it be viable just to send your best?
Please don’t reply with what is “morally correct”, just whatever will work best in terms of admission.
UC’s will require all tests meaning you can send all your ACT scores and/or all your SAT scores. You can pick which SAT2 scores are sent however. The UC’s will take the highest score from a single sitting.
@Gumbymom I called the UC earlier today and asked them about SAT Subject Tests. The person gave me the generic “we’d like all scores” answer. Was she mistaken?
My son’s both sent all their ACT scores and 3 of their SAT 2 subject tests. They only took the SAT I once early in their Junior year and found the ACT more to there liking, so they did not submit that score only the Subject tests which were taken on a separate test date. Since the SAT 2 subject tests are not required and some campuses state that submitting these tests will only help not hurt your chances, that is probably the standard answer.
@Gumbymom Thank you, I decided to send all of my ACT scores and all of my SAT Subject Scores to avoid any confusion.
I also took the SAT I early in my Junior year as well and found the ACT test more to my liking, so I did not submit my SAT I score and only sent all of my SAT Subject Test Scores instead.
My D applied and I’m honestly not entirely sure of their testing policy. I know they want all SAT 1 scores or all ACT scores but does she have to submit all testing from both exams or can she choose to send all scores on just one exam?
@Gumbymom Have your sons been accepted at UC schools? Also if they were do you happen to know if they opted into the college search that the SAT offers students or if they chose not to opt in.
Follow-up Question: Do UC’s require all SAT 2 subject test to be sent. I know that UC’s require all SAt 1 and ACT scores to be sent (they do not recommend Score Choice) but am not sure about the SAT II’s.
In other words, if I took the SAT 1 and got a 2010, Sat Bio: 710, SAT Chem: 750, and ACT: 35 is it fine if I just send in my ACT and Sat Chem scores to UCs?
