Hey everyone,
so I sent all my SAT scores really early, but I completely forgot about my ACT scores. According to the UC websites they said “Scores for either the ACT or SAT test are due December 31.” Does this mean that I have a choice of which type of test to send? I self reported my Act scores in my app and I was wondering if this will affect admission.
Thank You!
Yes they accept either or.
Additionally, if your counselor mentioned your ACT score on your official transcript, you’re good. UIC is one of those schools that take your scores from your academic counselor.
@EgyptianFlame98 Thank You!
I’m sorry I just realized this is UChicago not UIC! Ignore the second sentence I said then. But they still accept either or.
ADDITIONALLY they extended their deadline to January 8 so you’re good!
Once again I apologize for the mix up (I live in Chicago so UIC and UC look almost exactly the same, considering I never see UC lol, only UChicago and U of C)
Or is it about the University of California system?
UC on these boards most often refers to the University of California. If that is to which you are referring, you are fine just sending the SAT but if you actually want your ACT score to be considered rather than your SAT score, you should have it sent immediately regular delivery to one of the UCs to which you are applying (all get it when you send to one) because UCs will use only official scores from the testing agency to determine admission. You are actually not late yet since if the scores arrive by mid-Jan they will be in soon enough to be considered.
