Tragedies:
grandfather died
other grandfather has cancer and recently got something in his rectal area cut(sorry if that was too much info...)
dad's buisness goes out and loses $160,000

I'm planning to major in computer science and I've already taken AP comp sci at my school and got a 4 on the AP exam

I’m sorry about your grandparents :frowning:
But you should be fine for UCSB, I think SD may be a slight reach just because of your GPAs sophomore and junior year (but you have an upward trend, so that’s good). If your essays are good I think you have a chance at both.

lol it happens to everyone
but yeah i think i wrote a good essay lol i had it revised multiple times so hopefully SD admissions officers will like me cause of it

am i safe for irvine?

UCSD Admissions is completely points based and having a grandparent get cancer will not give points. Your essays will most likely not help you.
I can say UCSD will be a pretty big reach.

Oh sorry I forgot about UCI haha. It’s pretty similar to UCSB in terms of admissions so I think you should be ok.
