I qualify for the UC statewide path, according to the link
“If [you] … aren’t admitted to any of the UC campuses you apply to, you’ll be offered a spot at another campus if space is available…”
I notice it says ‘another’ so that means if I apply to a uc that I like and am not accepted, then they will offer a spot at another uc, with no chance of it being the uc I applied and got rejected to, and only if space is available. Does that mean if I go crazy apply to all the ucs and get rejected from all of them for some reason I won’t qualify for this statewide path?
Anybody have any experience with or know anybody who with experience with this statewide path program?
If so, is there any chance of getting into elite schools with this program (ucb, ucla, ucd, ucsd) or would I only be offered a spot at the less well-known schools? it’s a little confusing

“Does that mean if I go crazy apply to all the ucs and get rejected from all of them for some reason I won’t qualify for this statewide path?” No.

Generally, the UC statewide path will result in you gaining admittance to UC Riverside and/or Merced, provided space is available (which, if I recall correctly, has been the case in recent years). There is no chance of you getting into elite schools via this path; it’s more of a way to ensure you get into at least the “lowest” UC school provided you meet the statewide path cutoff.

@wchuck thanks for the clarification
