UC - Step 3 Optional?

<p>Hi, I'm filling out the UC app right now and I have a question regarding step 3 where it says:</p>

<p>Answering the following questions is voluntary. However, if you are applying for the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) or for an application fee waiver, you will need to answer several sections indicated by blue text below. </p>

<p>Does this mean that ALL of step 3 is optional or only the part indicated by the blue text?</p>

<p>If it is optional and if I decide not to fill it in, how will they know that I am financially capable of going to their school?</p>

<p>I think you are only required to indicate your parents’ job. Income section is optional and I wouldn’t worry about it. ( tha’t s what I did =] )</p>
