Uc subject test submissions policy clarification

Hello all,
I have been panicking in the past few days becuase I did very poorly on my sat subject test for math and physics(630 and 610 respectively). It is my fault for not preparing for the tests even though I was out of school for nearly a month before the test. I was recently researching how much this would affect my application to Ucs when I saw that the Uc system says that it wants all sat scores from all sittings. Does this mean I also need to send my subject test scores along with my reasoning scores because I would like to apply with no subject test scores rather than poor scores. I will be taking the reasoning test again in October so I do not think I can improve my scores on the subject tests. Can someone please clarify if I need to send my sat subject test scores to Ucs even if I do not not want to use any subject test scores at all in my application?
Thank you

I think if you’re applying to the College of Letters and Sciences then it is not necessary.

Even then, UC’s only RECOMMEND subject tests, it says on the website that not sending them will not hurt your application while sending them may help.

If you don’t want to send them, don’t send them. It should be fine.

Most likely you have read the UC’s page where it says it requires “all scores” a little less than midway down through the page: http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/freshman/requirements/examination-requirement/ The page is ambiguous and my reading of it is that the paragraph that says “all scores” is referring only to the SAT if you send SAT and is not referring to the ACT or to subject tests. Subject tests are mentioned on that page only at the bottom in a paragraph that neither states nor implies that they have to be sent.

Thanks for the replies guys! I checked which Uc schools recommend subject tests and my two main choices(Davis and Santa Cruz) have no specfic recommendations for any department so I probably will apply without sending in subject test scores. I’m glad that I do not need to send in those poor scores. Sadly this may hurt my application to other schools since I am planning on going into an engineering major and other schools like Irvine recommend subject tests for engineering.
